![]() This is my graphics card limitation doesn't have enough bandwidth to handle it (192bit width). When looking directly at the Ultra clouds, it drops to half refresh rate = 30fps with 75% GPU utilization. During normal gameplay it stays in the 40-50fps range. I also locked the frame rate to 60fps in Rivatunner (My monitor is 60Hz and I can only get 60fps underground anyway. In the options set everything to Max/Ultra except AF (overriding at driver level) and AO (Ambient Oclusion seems to be reversed (watch Digital Foundy's video), so it seems medium is Utltra and Ultra is medium (I set mine to medium). Then I enabled vsync in the nvidia control panel for the game (hate tearing). I set the game to "Fullscreen" not "windowed" and I disabled vsync ingame. The file is located in "SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Horizon Zero Dawn\LocalCacheDX12" ![]() NOTE: you need to delete the shader cache file and let the game create it again, after doing the above, or your textures will be all messed up. The first time I launched the game, it created the shader cache which took forever and then I've got horrible performance, freezes, stutters, etc (no crashes at this point), so I started searching for possible fixes.Īs for Death Stranding AF is not working ingame (doesn't matter if you select Ultra, the textures are all blurred in the distance) - FIX: Force AF to 16x in the Nvidia control panel (create a new profile for the game). Not until Nvidia releases something better, which I doubt at this point (Pascal cards = End of life) Nvidia 442.19 drivers (Check on Reddit, this version has better performance for Pascal cards)Īlthough the game complains I should update, I will not. Windows 10 圆4 v1909 (Delayed the next big update) MSI GTX 1060 6GB Gaming X (Heavy OC with MSI Afterburner: core 129Mhz, Mem clock 695Mhz, Power limit 108%, Temp limit 92C and a custom fan curve profile to keep the temps around 60C (This is the absolute limit my card can take, core goes to 2101Mhz (here's a sample: ġ HDD Western Digital Black 2TB for games (installed the game here, because the SDD is full) Let me start by posting my mild-weak specs (for today's standards). Hopefully whatever is causing the crashes in the stock files is going to be sorted out in the next patch. I then went ahead and applied the Hex edits again (as described further below). I played with no issues for about 1 hour, but during a conversation the game crashed. It seems it now works as intended on Ultra. Maybe they fixed something, because when looking at some objects, I noticed the AO was a bit off, so I went to the settings and changed it to Ultra and it looks much better. I updated the game to v1.01 and checked file integrity in Steam, just to be sure all files were stock again (no Hex edits), let everything else the same, except the AO setting. This probably is only working fine for my specific case, but I'll share it anyway: Hopefully it's now working properly for the majority of people! ) Finally with patch v1.02, the game is no longer crashing and I didn't need to do the HEX edits anymore.
